about kakadu, arnhem land

the yellow waters billabong is located in the middle of the kakadu national park. if possible, take the early cruising tour and be witness of nature waking on the misty water.

hundreds of estuarine crocs ("salties") live in the billabongs, so no swimming is recommended. roule: the ones you see are not dangerous, the hidden, submerged ones are your problem.

lots of different birds can be watched and the guide knows all of them. he also tells some serious and funny stuff about the park and its animals and people.

the lily hopper never leaves the liliy pad.

kingfisher

the sea eagle is the biggest bird in the park.

east of jabiru at the border to arnhem land

you need a permit to cross the east alligator river and travel further to arnhem land.

be aware the river is crowded with salties and the water level changes with the tides. so be there at the right time of the day and don`t step out of the car if you got stuck.
